Over the years, they have selectively put together a herd that reflects a desire to raise and breed tall elegant, robust, well-mannered llamas with presence, intelligence, good conformation, and fine fiber, with exotic colorings and markings. With this goal in mind, they have carefully planned every breeding.

The High Sierra Llama Ranch is located at Davis Lake, in Portola California in the Sierra Mountains, North- West of Lake Tahoe, CA and Reno, Nevada. The Ranch over looks the Sierra Valley, and is home to Kevin and Debby Ullrich, and their select herd of llamas. Besides the qualities already mentioned, first and foremost the primary desire is to raise healthy llamas in an environment that is respectful of the nature of these animals.

The High Sierra Llama Ranch strives to maintain the highest standards of excellence in their breeding program, medical care and herd management. The llamas are treated with the consideration, gentleness, and respect that they deserve.

The High Sierra Llama Ranch takes time in educating the public and new owners about llamas. They support and participate in organizations devoted to the welfare of llamas .......and They have lots of fun doing all of this!

Visitors are always welcome, but please call ahead for an appointment, so that time can be devoted to introducing you to the herd, and answering all your llama questions.
